2017 preparations commence this week

The first round of winter testing begins this Wednesday the 16th November at MotorLand Aragon. The test will see Honda World Superbike Team, Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team and Kawasaki Racing Team will take to the Spanish circuit to make their first improvements ahead of next year.

After his final farewell to MotoGP™ in Valencia over the weekend where he finished 13th, Stefan Bradl will climb aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP this week, as his new journey in WorldSBK begins. He’ll reunite with fellow MotoGP™ veteran Nicky Hayden, as they work together to try to create a winning combination that will see them succeed in 2017.

Marco Melandri will make his return as he tests the new Ducati with teammate Chaz Davies. He’ll have a lot to learn from the Welshman who dominated the end of the 2016 season on the Italian machine.

Michael van der Mark will climb aboard his new YZF R1 for the first time today, as he prepares for his 2017 challenge with the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team. Together with Alex Lowes, they will work towards putting together a package that will hopefully see frequent podium finishes for Yamaha next year.

After a packed week of public relations events at EICMA and Kawasaki events in the United States, KRT duo Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes will swap jet skis for their brand new ZX-10RR’s. The 2016 WorldSBK Champion and runner-up will be strategizing their 2017 title defence campaigns.

After two days at Aragon, the WorldSBK paddock heads to Jerez where most teams will test between the 21st and 25th of November before the new year. Stay up to date with the latest news and developments in testing only on WorldSBK.com.
